I told myself that I would write a little something everyday here on my wordpress website, http://www.raquelamaral.com.
I love to make jewelry and I also love to watercolor. So every night when I go to bed I take my watercolor pad and paints and sit up and paint. I have no idea what the brushes what to show me. I’m an intuitive artist and recently (over the past year) knew that there was a name for us.
I scatter paint all around the paper then I turn the paper lay paint, turn the paper, lay paint. Eventually what wants to show up does.
I don’t like to look at a photo/object and paint it. It’s too much like working in an office which I do full time. See I can’t just sit idle and watch tv, my hands have to be busy. Eventually I will stop painting put everything back in the canvas bag where I tote it back and forth to the office. You see I also watercolor paint while I’m eating my lunch at my desk.
Certainly helps keep my spirits up and mind balanced, doing what I enjoy through out each day.
